Description:
2 old general cargo vessels in the port of Hamburg in summer 1970.
The Dutch one is Neder Waal, bt. 1959, the Hapag is from Thuringia class, but I do not know at all which one exactly.

In 1977 they were both renamed and prefixed with " Nedlloyd ", due to the merger of several Dutch shipping companies, among them Nederland Line, which had occured already in 1970. Both ships were demolished in 1983 and 1984.
Your photo is probably from very shortly after this merger - due to the Nedlloyd funnel and the Nederland Line logo still to be seen on her bow.
