Description:
The Icelandic Coast Guard vessel "Óðinn" anchored at Berufjörður fjord on East coast of Iceland in the summer of 2006.
Óðinn was there at her last patrol for the ICG and is no longer in service.
Óðinn was built in Aalborg, Denmark in 1959 for the ICG and served for almost five decades and has a great history. She took part of many search and rescue operations and saved many sea-farers lives. She also played important role in two cod wars (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cod_War).
In the future Óðinn will be conserved at the Reykjavík Maritime Museum (http://www.maritimemuseum.is/english/exhibitions/permanent-exhibitions/odinn/).
