Canadian Patrol Frigate HMCS St.John's FFH 340 underway in the Bedford Basin,Halifax on December 4th 2007.Named after the City of St John's,Newfoundland she is the first ship in Canadian Navy to bear the name as Newfoundland was prior to 1949 a British colony. St John's is one of a class of twelve Halifax Class frigates,seven of which are based on Halifax,N.S.
