Sorry for the late reply.

The Hammerodde and Dueodde were based on the Design of the Ben-My-Chree because of the high RoRo Capcity for the size. The hulls are exactly the same except for the fendering, having seen interior photos of the car deck they are identical. The difference is in the Superstructure. The new ships are more similar to the Commodore Clipper here, having one extra deck. They have extended Cabin/Pax area on the upper decks, the Ben only got the extra pax accomodation on the one deck during her rebuild last year. The Ben's Windows also appear to give a better forward view, with the larger windows.

I suppose the best way to compare would be to go to fakta and look at all the photographs.

As for internals, The only similarity would be in the forward lower bay area, they are similar, only the new ones have a bit more depth. The rest of the accomidation is almost completely different, though the food area is in the same place.

The Ben's Pax capacity is about 600 now, as she has had extra Liferafts fitted to cope with the TT, so a bit of a difference over the 400 of the new ships.

Hope that helps 8-)

Hi Alex,

can you explain what the difference is between Ben-My-Chree and the new Bornholm Ferries?

Thanks,
Tim

Calmer waters here than on your other stormy photo. Nice shot.
