MAJA as shown while docking at Montréal in July 1969.
Built in 1937 as VITO for Norwegian-concern O Ditlev-Salmonsen Jr, she became STELLA NOVA in 1937 (J.Lind) and ALTHEA in 1966 (C.Porzio) before being sold in 1968 to Grancebaco who renamed her MAJA as depicted here.

Subsequent history: 1974-renamed IOLANDA; 1977-renamed CORALBA; 1978-to breakers, Split, Yugoslavia (Croatia), arrived 19th Sept.
Some technical details: Grt: 5,181; Dwt: 9195; Loa: 134.96m; Beam: 17.33m; Draught: 7.792m. Built by AB Gotaverken, Gothenburg, Sweden (no. 501). As built she was powered by an 8-cylinder Gotaverken double acting diesel engine but this was replaced in 1959 by a more-modern Gotaverken DM760/1300VG-6U single-acting 2-stroke of 6,650 bhp for a speed of 12.75 knots.
