One of the oldest ships I've ever photographed, Quebec & Ontario's 1906-built steam-driven Great Lakes bulk carrier HERON BAY as shown while upbound on the St.Lawrence River off Contrecoeur in April 1978 in the last year of her very long career.

When I first started doing ship photography in the early 70s, there were still quite a number of these old lake steamers around in my area. Apart from a few US-flag oldies still working on the Lakes, they're history now.
