Description:

Canadian-flag cement carrier CEMENTKARRIER as shown while upbound on the St.Lawrence River off Montréal in August 1968.
Built in 1930 for Canada Cement Transportation Ltd, CEMENTKARRIER traded as such on the St.Lawrence River and the Great Lakes for 49 years before being renamed GENERAL KARRIER in 1979. As such she spent most of her last years in lay up at Sorel before being finally broken up at Contrecoeur in 1986, one of the few ships to have done so at this location.
