Converted to diesel and rebuilt by Great Lakes Towing Company, in their Cleveland, Ohio yard, in 1950.
While attempting to free anchor of grounded freighter, B.F.JONES, October 23, 1941, off east end of Belle Isle, Detroit River, caught in line from tug OREGON and flipped over, sinking within five seconds, in 19 feet of water. 6 lives lost. Sustained pilot house damage when hit by another tug's towline while freeing freighter FEDERAL ST. CLAIR in Detroit River in September 1977. Her upper works were destroyed by fire on November 1, 1979 while on standby status at Detroit. She was towed to Cleveland.
