That Spica has alot of paint loose on the bow, I see, wonder where that ship has been going to.. I am not sure, whether this one had a different name 1 year ago, as well. And, YOU are lucky with red ships I see that :-D

On December 28 she didn't look that battered on the bow. (Look here)

Lately Tomas commented on another photo (I forgot which one) where the vessel had similar damages. He supposed it might be the anchor chain when the ship's swinging at anchor. Another member pointed out that this is indeed the reason for such damage.

Oh, ok - that is how it happened then - self-damage, I thought it does not look like typical damage from ice.

Personally I never would have guessed it was the anchor chain.
On the other hand I read somewhere that even rough seas are heavy on the vessel's painting!
