the second of a class of 5 ro-ro's built for Polish Ocean Lines for their Mediterranean service. She was chartered out between 1992/1993 as Ville de Lattaquie, but has retained the name Tychy since then despite her ownership changing to Levant Chartering and then Pol-Med Shg. Co.
She was one of a number of ro-ro vessels chartered by the British Ministry of Defence in order to support Bush and Blair's illegal invasion of Iraq. But the upside for us ship lovers was that it brought a good number of unusual visitors to Marchwood Military Port.
