Description:

Royal Fleet Auxiliary passing Renfrew on the Clyde in February 1974 following refit at the nearby Elderslie Drydocks.
She and her two sisters, LYNESS and TARBATNESS were built by Swan Hunter on Tyneside. I saw one fitting out at Wallsend away back in 1967.
They all went to the US Military Sealift Command in the mid-1980s, STROMNESS becoming USNS SATURN.
