Description:
AMBER was built in 1956 at the Ailsa yard at Troon for the Glasgow firm of William Robertson, Gem Line. This was taken in Glasgow in 1974.
She was renamed SIMRI in 1979 and in December 1980 she sank off Cape Carbonara, Sardinia in heavy weather on a voyage from La Spezia to Benghazi with a cargo of iron. Her crew rowed ashore .
