built for NYK by Yokohama Dock Co., yd # 177,
KL - 09:11:1928, L - 30:09:1929, D - 25:04:1930.

survived WW2, used as a hospital ship, then utilised on post-war services to West Coast USA/Canada until 1960 when she was withdrawn from service and preserved as a youth hostel/tourist attraction/restaurant/museum at Yamashita Park, Yokohama. A truly lovely ship.
