Description:
The diesel-electric powered Russian icebreaking freighter Ob at Berth No.12, Port Adelaide early 1958, during the International Geophysical Year. She had been to the Antarctic and was returning home to Russia, taking the opportunity to load bagged grain and wool.
One of three sisterships completed by De Schelde in June 1954, registered at Murmansk.
