Description:

Valletta Harbour 10.10.2006
Call Sign 9H6398
D.O.B. March 1959
DWT 320
Flag Malta
The 200 foot long bunkering vessel ran aground at 6am 10.10.2006.
High currents were too much for the vessels engines to handle and she
was pushed on to the rocks in Marsascala.
The rescue started at 7.30 am and by 10am tugs Pawlina and Wenzina and a sea crane were on the scene.
With difficulty they managed to get the vessel off the underwater reef.
Her hull remained intact, if a little out of shape and the recovery crew remained on board, she was empty but for 15 tonnes of diesel for her own consumption.
Around midday she was towed into Valletta harbour with numerous vessels in attendance including the Oil Response unit.
Once inside the harbour she was lashed to the tug Pawlina and taken to Cassar shipyards.
