Description:

Here's a photo to bring tears to the eyes of those who love traditional cargo ships - Pando Sound, the former Bendigo at the breakers yard of T. W. Ward in Briton Ferry, South Wales. Built by Alexander Stephen in Glasgow in 1954, she arrived at Briton Ferry on 11 May 1972. She did not go without a struggle, however, for although partial demolition took place straight away, on 13 February 1974, the hulk was blown broadside across the River Neath and only removed with considerable difficulty.

Yeah, ouch. I have allways felt bad at scrapyards and layup-places. Very nice shot!
