Operated by West Coast Shipping for the Alaska crude trade before Crowley picked it up - so that boxy accommodation was probably cozy and warm! Same for all ships of the class. And WCS took good care of those ships. Cabins were also nicely appointed. I only heard that there was a tendency to rig hammocks for catching some zzzzz's in those Pacific swells. There were also some problems adjusting to the heat and high sea temps when some of the ships in the class were moved to the Gulf of Mexico. :-o And the mosquitos!

Here's the first ship I ever sailed on! Very good ship, inside and out.

A marvellous shot too Peter

Great job!

No way this is an ugly ship, its a neat ship with its own style. I like this ship better than all those identical foreign tankers

What an ugly ship. Yanks don't know how to design nice ships.

I would rather say, this ship reflects the pragmatism of American shipbuilders.
Funcionality is all, fancywork is not required.
