Its a great photo of an old Ice breaker, BUT, I don't really care to see the name on the photo, it spoils the object, sorry to say, that is my opinion, and some others as well, don't get me wrong, I am giving advice in a hopefully, friendly way, all our photos are copyright in this site, wether it is noted or not. :-)

Thanks for the advice but having my name on my pics is one of the principles which I've had soon 10 years so I won't go changing that all of the sudden. My opinion is that it doesn't spoil the image when it's not OVER the object itself, like you can see on some other ship sites as well.

That is fine with me I don't want you to change now, what I meant by spoiling the effect of the photo, it takes away from the picture and it is like you are advertising, its to commercial, like all the other members who have their names on the photo, I belong to another site which don't even want the date on the photo, or your name, I could do the same, but I don't think its neccessary, you have wonderful photos and I enjoy looking at them, keep posting. :-)

I fully understand your point of view, however the reason why my name is there, is because I've had some problems in the past with people stealing my photos, and when my name is there, it hopefully makes people understand that the photos are my property and not for free use everywhere. The reason is not advertising, but the copyright. You can never be too careful with these matters, I've learned.

I suppose we could go on forever on this subject, some time ago I found some of my photos on a web site I e-mailed them they answered me, today as a matter of fact,
the webmaster was at sea for three months and was unable to answer me, he asked me if I had more photos he will add my name to the already posted photos and continue with the new ones, any site can use your photo as long as they are not for sale, so I am told, but it is better if they ask for your permission first and give you credit, like I said you have wonderful photos, and I don't want to persue this any further, adding your name is your perogative, I will still look at them, I thought it a bit odd that you add your name even though you are protected regardless of name ot not, I respect your decision and keep posting.:-)
