It's a good color, despite these ships' lack of size, you'll simply not be able to overlook them and you'll recognize them within a distance - although a few ones have that, like this here

You are right about that one Cornelia.
It could be a trade mark for some companies.
Take a different color then the rest of the ship and you get to be seen much sooner!!
