The first name given to this vessel was "Aviso Hela".
Keel was laid - 23.11.1937 at Hamburg ship yard "H. C. Stulcken Sohn". The ceremony of hoisting the navy flag took place on
16.10.1940. The yacht was named "Hela". During World War II the yacht was armed with two 105-mm guns, one 37-mm and two 20-mm anti-aircraft sub-machine-guns. Officially the yacht was classed as "aviso", i.e. dispatch-vessel, operational or auxiliary flag-ship.
On board the vessel there were repeatedly Hitler, Hering, Hebels, Himmer and other representatives of Nazi bosses.
"Hela" got its new name "Angara" in 1946 and transferred to the Black Sea Fleet. From 1949 to 1996, as a member of
the Black See Fleet, “Angara” was used as a representation ship belonging to the Government to receive high ranking persons.
On 26.02.1995 a fire broke out in the engine room damaging the ship severely. Therefore, the ship was reclassified
as floating barrack PKZ-14 in January 1996. The ship is recently for sale and according to the latest information, the engines are now back in working order.

Best regards Valeriy
