This is a crude oil "shuttle tanker", designed for bow loading at FPSOs and their loading buoys and then transporting the crude oil, which has been "stabilised" (ie had excess gas and water removed) to refineries. The cargo loading hoses are hauled in over the bows to the manifolds which are located forward, instead of in the conventional, amidships position. A control room for the loading operations is mounted on the forecastle.
