I have a thing about bridges -- I dont mind being on mountain tops or flying or whatever but I get very uncomfortable on bridges - can drive me nuts sometime.
You will need to come to the U.S.= you can walk across the Golden Gate Bridge - now there is a place to take photos! And once a year the Mackinaw Bridge which is about 10 miles long is opened to pedestrians - it connects the Upper Peninsula of Michigan with the lower part of Michigan across the Straits of Mackinaw. When I took a ship ride under it 4 years ago there were people standing up way up on top of the tower of the bridge - could not believe that!

Two things about this bridge:
1. part of it collapsed during the earthquake in San Fran and Oakland about 25 years ago
2. it is double decker - you go to Oakland on one deck; return to San Fran on the other deck.
One end of it comes onto a little island, the road goes into a tunnel and then there is another bridge the rest of the way across the bay to Oakland - comes in right in the middle of the Oakland container terminal, one of the busiest in the US. I rode over and back when I was in San Fran but could not find a good place to photo the container ships.
