I did my first trip to sea as deck boy on this ship in the autumn of 1964,it was quite an experience,but it didn't put me off,and continue to sail up to the present. Eric Owen.

I am mistaken the MV Onitsha I sailed on was built in 1952. I sailed on the menelaus which was the sister ship to the Menestheus

Sailed on this in 1969 as a junior engineer. I remember we had large logs of cargo on board from West Africa

Beautiful, now that shot just sums up what a proper ship looked like to me in my childhood hanging around London's docks. Thanks for sharing Derek.
