Super job Marie-Anne,, what was the little boat doing at the bow??

The little boat is taking two headlines from the ship to bring them ashore. In the meantime the tugboats keep the vessel in position and keep her with the head in the current. When the lines are ashore(put on the bollards)the ship starts heaving very easily, so that the ship comes slowly towards the quai. The same procedure for her stern...We, as pilots, are always afraid, that the launch is not coming between ship and quai. At the stern we are always carefull to use the propellor. This was it in a "nutshell".

Thank you Geert for explaining what the "little boat" is doing. It always looks spectacular and i knew it was a special job for the tugs to handle an action like this.

Thnaks again!!

Gewoon een simpele Sony DSC P 71. Niks bijzonders, maar ik moet toegeven dat de resultaten af e toe verbluffend zijn!!
