I'm assuming this has been 'updated' not by your good self? Looks more like a steamship than an ancient motor vessel to me :-)

David, thanks for the comment. You could indeed be correct with the location as I believe the photo was taken when my family were returning to the UK from Australia in the 1930s

I believe this to be the Shaw Savill Akaroa, built 1914 by H&W Belfast, as Euripedes for Aberdeen Line. Renamed Akaroa in 1932 she was broken up in 1954.

The port looks like Port Chalmers NZ, but I could be wrong!
