It was a pleasure watching this vessel traveling eastward on the Columbia R. from Rainier, Or., early afternoon of Dec. 27, '08. At first blush, I thought the 'K' on the side of the ship needed repainting. Then, as it got closer, I saw something that I had seen so many times on the side of fuel delivery trucks for so many years as an old east coast fuel dealer - the stain of petroleum which ran down the ships side & obscured the letter! Ah, memories ... :-)

I wasn't going to look at ship photos tonight and instead catch up on some sleep but once I saw you were posting Columbia River photos ..................................... :-D
