Hello Nick,
Just came across your pics, what a great little ship, would also like to know a bit about her.
I wonder how the Mighty Kong fitted in her!!??
Could she be the same ship that transported Anthony Hopkins to California on his way to ride the "Worlds Fastest Indian"at the Bonneville Salt flats??

No that was the Rangatira, which provides a cargo service between Timaru (and sometimes Napier) to the Chatam Islands, there are some photos of her on this site. The parts of the film where she made an appearance were filmed in Timaru.
