|U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's smaller research vessel Lake Explorer inbound Erie, 18 June 2003 at 6:15 p.m. The Lake Explorer is the smaller fleetmate of Lake Guardian.
The vessel is 82 feet long, 19.5 feet wide and has a top speed of 14 knots, and was built in 1963. It's captain is Sam Miller. It is homeported in Duluth, Minnesota.
