Description:
In the 1970s, Upper Clyde Shipbuilders at their Govan yard built 3 dredgers, a departure for this yard but encompassing skills from employees of the former Simons-Lobnitz yard at Renfrew, specialists in this field.
The dredgers were DELTA BAY, PACIFIQUE and GUANABARA. The latter was built for service in Brazil and this is a shot of her launch at Govan on 15th May 1972.
She is still in service first as ESTADO DA GUANABARA and DRAGA COPACABANA there are excellent shots of her on Shipspotting from Rogerio Cordeiro.
