The state-of-the-art Fugro Saltire – a vessel built this year which is Fugro’s latest, purpose built ROV support vessel, that has been specifically designed to address the latest demands of the deep water Remote Intervention, Construction and Survey markets. The Fugro Saltire is being mobilised into a drilling vessel to undertake drilling operations in over 1500m of water. Seacore are assembling their R100 mobile drill rig onto the deck of the ship which when on location will drill through the vessel’s large moonpool. Once the drill rig is tested and commissioned in Falmouth Fugro Saltire will sail for Montevideo, Uruguay before heading off to the drilling location. (Source: Falmouth Packet)
