Description:

Seen here anchored way above the Pilot boarding ground in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia.  She anchored here for 2 days before going to Risdon to Unload.  She is a part bulk carrier and part chemical tanker to enable her to carry sulphuric Acid from Risdon to Mainland Australia

transferred to Ore Carriers.

My father, Capt Peter Shipp, was skipper of the Zincmaster when she was first launched. I can remember him being in his mid-30s when he was given command.

I was also on the Zincmaster around 1976,they added the tanks after I left !!!

I was on the Zincmaster in 1979/80 , she also had a bow door for fork lift trucks to carry zinc and lead ingots into a cargo deck on the port and starboard wings plus, small side doors which would fall out board to place the ingots (tidal only) and the ships own fork lift would pick them up and stow them.
