Description:
The Greek bulk carrier ZENOVIA, owned by the Byzantine Maritime Corporation, was photographed by Skip Meier on Lake Huron on 6th June 1985.
Built by Swan Hunter at South Shields as ZINNIA for Stag Line, she had been sold in 1982, becoming TIMUR SWIFT then in 1983 ERMIONE and in 1985 ZENOVIA.
In 1990 she was sold to Commercial Marine Limited of Piraeus, who renamed her IONIA, but she suffered a fire early in December 1990 on a voyage from Tampa to Chittagong and was towed to Ponce Roads by the tug SIMSON. She was simply renamed ONIA for the voyage to breakers at Aliaga where she arrived on 7.7.91
