Description:
One of the older active ships in U.S.naval service, the SS Chesapeake, T-AOT 5084 is outbound to sea from the Norfolk Navy Base. The 1964 built tanker normally carries jet fuel and carries on its deck an Offshore Petroleum Discharge System (OPDS) and can unload 1.4 million gallons of fuel a day up to 4 miles offshore.
