Description:

BC Ferries M/V Queen of Vancouver after departing Swartz Bay enroute to Tsawwassen terminal, Feb 8th 2009 @ 0906. She had been scheduled to retire several times already at this point but her life kept getting extended. She was the last of the original* V class ferries still in service in BC, finally being retired upon the Queen of New Westminster's return to service after her refit, in March or April of 2009. The Queen of New Westminster is still in service, but was converted to have two car decks like the other V's much later than the others, in 1991. She just underwent a $57,000,000 refit to continue her through to a planned retirement date of 2020.
