Nice to see another good shot of the Zakros! As may be known, from the mid-1960's Greek ferry operators bought second-hand tankers to be converted to ro/ro passenger ships, at a time when the need for car and truck transportation was on the rise. Unlike the Zakros these ships were rebuilt with passenger cabins and public spaces. The Zakros carried mainly trucks and served as a relief only. The most interesting thing about this ship was her ownership. She weas jointly owned by the two rival ferry operators on the isle of Crete: ANEK of Chania and Minoan Lines of Heraklion. ANEK started business with a converted tanker, the Kydon (ex-Wirakel, IMO 5392173), Minoan owned the Minos (converted from the Soya Margareta, 5336143). The co-owners adopted a white funnel for the Zakros and registered the ship in equally-neutral Pireaus!

All the best, Anton
