These vessels were in fact classified as Destroyer Escorts and would be more correctly placed in Destroyers category. Note: USA,Canada and Australia were,I believe, the only Western nations to so classify these types (DE's DDEs) Rgds,Ken P.S. Reference :Janes Fighting Ships,the bible.

The Dutch Royal navy has in the sixties five of this types in the fleet,all ships
are classified as a fregat.
F 807...De Bitter
F 808...Van Ewijck
F 809...DuBois
F 810...DeZeeuw
F 811...Van Zijl
All ships are out of the fleet
I have sailed for about two years at the Van Ewijck.
