I really like this picture, not very often that you see two heavy icebreakers and a bulker in the same area like this.

Thanks for the comments. I took this picture from another bulk carrier, the Barkald. At the time I had been beset for about 17 hours with both ice breakers assisting unsuccessfully. The Eastern Power, in this picture was finally making progress after being stuck for about 12 hours. As there was no wind, the actions of the Eastern Power and the tide must have changed the pressure of the ice, as I started to move on my own about 10 minutes after this picture was taken.
cheers

Last time I was down the Barkald was unloading coal(March 29th), and there was a pretty good layer of ice all over the harbor then, some of it was rafted up about 15'-20' high in places.

Best Wishes,
Allan

Thanks for the commenst. Actually, now that I look at the picture, I realize I popsted the unedited version with the horizon off horizontal. I'll try to edit this.

I would imagine the Eastern Power is in Bridgeport by now. There are currently three Panamax vessel anchored in Chedabucto Bay, the Red Iris, Billion Trader 1 and the Nordmosel. The Barkald is taking loads of Indonesian coal from them for discharge in Sydney, NS.
