BROOKLYN BRIDGE entering the port of Mangalia, Romania after a long trip from Quincy, MA, U.S.A. ( 6000 nautical miles ).
Towed by American-flagged tug boat ALLIE B ( 3600 bhp ) has arrived at Mangalia with USS HARVEY-former GOLIATH, dismantled in the Fore River Shipyard, Quincy.
GOLIATH ( 100 m tall, 1200 ton capacity, built in 1975 by General Dynamics ) was the largest gantry crane in North America and a Quincy landmark.
Now, the new owner of this giant crane is Daewoo Mangalia Heavy Industries shipyard.
