The American crew didn't leave, they were kicked off by the third rate company they worked for. This was a great ship, sad to see it in this condition.

What a mess I was on her for 2.5 years after the American crew left in1995
The whole ship was brought back to new British Officers and excellent Philipino crew. WE paid off in Korea dry dock when a new Korean Chief and Captain and Philipino crew took over.

I was Chief Engineer on this vessel for 7 years after it's construction. We took a lot better care of the vessel!
