Very nice photo, this brought back memories as i watched her being launched !, as the "West Islands" she was the second of four sisterships built by the yard, unfortunatley they were the last ships ever to be built at the yard.If you look at the link one can see some really good photos of her being bulit and the finished vessel.

Thanks for your comment and the very interesting link. Sad to see the faith of North Island that was wrecked after only ten years in service. It was also new to me that these vessels are of SD king 15 design, but I still think they fit best in to the SD 14 category as they look very much alike. :-).
