Description:
The Hydrographic Channel Survey and Sounding Vessel, FCG Smith in St. John's in the days before they were all painted Canadian Coast Guard red and white. She was visiting St. John's to accurately sound the harbour. I dug this old photo out of one of the boxes I keep my old 35 and 120mm prints and negatives and literally having to guess when I took this photo, I'd say it was 1995. I think at this time she was still stationed in Dartmouth at the Bedford Institute. I read somewhere that she was "transferred" to Transport Canada and sent to Quebec City in 1996.
