Was this one of the vessels which was part of the Yellow Fleet?

Ian,
My guess is it is the WAITARA Built:1966 10,715GRT 13.200 DWT
156m x 21.3m Operated by Transatlantic Rederi AB, Sweden.
Is the date of your photo correct? If so, this may not be the vessel!

I've revised the year. Must be 1967.
(The clue was the davit in the foreground. Mundoora had no such davit, but Kooringa did. That definitely makes it 1967)
The date would be between January and August 1967...my time on Kooringa.
Seems to strengthen the case for "Killara".

OK....I'll consign it to Killara.

Thanks for the comment John.

That photo was taken from 'Mundoora'. I served on her between January and June 1965...(Just checked my Discharges).

Jan, Waitara has a sister Killara, as well built in 1966, but she as a mast inbetween the cranes, so it might not be one of the two.
Tere are 2 more Transatlantic ships, the Talarah and Woolahra, both built in 1967, without any mast, only with cranes. They could it be from the shape, but as well they are built too late for 1965.
