Departing Helsinki on 18.9.2009 for her first tour for Stockholm after ten days' annual overhaul. Around midnight a failure in her electrical system made her to drift without steering capability in the open sea for about an hour. Very beautiful photo of this ferry ! I think, when I visited Finland first this ship was a rather modern ship and I always wanted to travel on but I always had more luck with the Gabriella on the Stockholm run, and now the Mariella is becoming a real classic I think :-)

Thank you Cornelia for your comment. I think Mariella and Gabriella continue to share their popularity among the passengers for various and varying reasons. I have sailed on both and for me they are equally lovely as long as the weather lets me spend time on their sun decks with my camera :-).
