Description:
AL-JOHFFA was photographed in the River Mersey as she made her approach to Alfred Lock, Birkenhead, on 23rd July 1984 with a very dusty cargo of bulk animal foodstuffs loaded at Karachi.
Built at Emden in 1957 as GEMSTONE for the London domiciled Alvion S.S. Corp of Panama, she became ALHIJAZI in 1975, operated by the Arabian Maritime Transport Co. of Jeddah, known as Amar Line, and managed by Univan Ship Management of Hong Kong, then AL-JOHFFA in 1983 owned by Ahmed Abdul Qawi Bamaodah (Management: Holbud Ltd. Shipmanagement Division, London). She arrived at Alang on 1st May 1985 to be broken up.
