General cargo ships built 1970-1979 (Over 3000gt) | | Description: | On 08-08-09 Piero Corona pictured this general cargo vessel at Suez. It's a 38 years' old vessel built in a country which does not exist anymore for a state which does not exist anymore.
Osman's shipping "Bader T." was originally built by the GDR Neptune Werft in 1971 as "Pavlik Larishkin" for the USSR.
32 similar "Pioner"class vessels were built between 1968 and 1972. One of these ships has been demolished in April 2009 - the 1970 built "Valeriy Volkov" as "Ocean Eagle" in China. At the time of writing 10 vessels were still sailing fully classified. Talking about sturdy ships....
