MONICA D. was photographed at Briton Ferry on 27.8.72

Launched in August 1942 at Landskrona for Herlofsen of Norway, she was delivered in August 1945 as HERMUND, becoming BLACK CONDOR in 1950.

Reverting to HERMUND in 1962, she became VARDAL in 1965 before being sold to Ferrando & Massone of Italy in 1969

Renamed MONICA D., she arrived at Briton Ferry on 31.7.72 after being declared a total loss when, following an accident, she was examined in dry dock at Avonmouth a month earlier
