Hi all,
She is the Spanish MARTE (5226702). Funnel is of Naviera Ason. Built 1900 by Londonderry Shipbuilding Co as yard number 45 and arrived Valencia on 6 September 1973 to be broken up. Regards Jose Luis |

Here is some additional information:
The Marte was sunk by the British Royal Navy submarine, HMS Turbulent (N 98) - This courtesy of http://uboat.net/allies/warships/ship/3505.html 29 Dec, 1942 HMS Turbulent (Cdr. J.W. Linton, DSO, DSC, RN) torpedoes and sinks the Italian merchant Marte (5290 BRT) east of Cape Ferrato, Sardinia, Italy in position 39º17'N, 09º41'E. Regards Steve Ellwood |
