The photo was taken at 12.51 pm on Friday, 20th of August, 2010, from the lighthouse end of the Prince of Wales Pier.

I've only been taking photos of ships in Dover Harbour since April and didn't know about the Athena's association with the SS Andrea Doria until I researched some background info for the photo's caption.

Some of the other people on the pier that day said the Athena is the oldest cruise ship still in service, but I wouldn't know if that's true or not.

Beautiful shot of her! Who would have thought back in 1948 and after the Andrea Doria, she would be still sailing today, and still looking so good? Thanks!
