Hi all,
this is a very old ship either Vasaland or Vikingland. Despite the bad quality, resolution too low and cut off it is a rare photo, which should be kept until we have a better one on the site. I suggest it for the historic shipphotos for preservation category. Gerolf |

Hello Gerolf and Tonylast,
Thank you very much for your replies and the information on the boat. I've changed the category so far :) Kind regards Matt |

| Gerolf is correct. This is either the *Vasaland,* built 1934 by Eriksbergs M/V AB at Gothenburg for A.Brostrom's Svenska Orient Linien, or her smaller near-sister, the *Vikingland,* built 1932 by the same builder. This photo seems pre-war, and I have seen a photo of the *Vasaland* pre-war in Brostrom's black hull livery, so maybe this is *Vikingland.* She was lost in a collision as *Dalsland* in 1958; the *Vasaland* had a long career, broken up at Gadani Beach in 1978 as *Vivi.* In either case, I guess you'd better change category! |
