General cargo ships built 1940 and before (Over 3000gt) | | Description: | Buenos Aires berthed at Napier Nov/Dec 1951. Built in 1928 as Argentino, she became Sudatlantico in 1931, Buenos Aires in 1939, Marita Thorden in 1952 and Merivakka in 1961 and was converted to a storage hulk. She also visited Napier as Marita Thorden in 1959 and again in 1960, and was one of the first ships to load logs at Napier.
